How to Maintain Your Artificial Turf in Beaumont CA During Autumn

Ah, autumn is here! That means many trees’ leaves will be changing colors before making their grand escape to the earth below them. It also means cooler, breezier weather and, even better, the holiday season is coming quickly. Lots of exciting things are near! Are you in the fall spirit yet?

Of course, autumn, like all other seasons, isn’t all fun and games. There are some serious things to consider this time of year such as making sure your plants are protected from upcoming frost and rainy weather, cleaning your gutters, protecting pipes that have the potential to freeze over as the weather cools down, and adequately sealing off areas of your home that could invite unwanted critters indoors.

There’s yet again another thing to consider during this season, especially as it progresses towards winter: properly caring for your artificial turf. While synthetic grass is super easy to care for and requires virtually no maintenance, it will be important for you to care for your fake grass in autumn if you wish to keep it beautiful, functional, and ultimately, intact, for several years to come.

Get Rid of Leaves on Your Artificial Lawn

One of the main things to worry about when it comes to your synthetic lawn this time of year is leaves. If you have trees anywhere near your yard, you bet that they’re going to pile up on your lawn at some point. It is fall after all.

Simply take a broom or leaf blower – depending on the length and texture of your turf and personal preferences for cleaning – to remove leaves from your grass. This way, the weight of the leaves won’t weigh down your beautiful, sturdy turf and will have less of an opportunity to allow dirt to cake up on your lovely lawn as leaves aren’t as clean as we imagine them to be and, not to mention, leaves get crumbly when they decay. That’s a no-go for any lawn!

Other Important Ways to Care for Synthetic Turf

Apart from removing large debris such as leaves from your artificial turf, it’s a good idea to use a water hose to get rid of dust and pollen from your grass to keep it as beautiful and clean as possible. We also recommend picking up any spilt drinks, food, or pet “leftovers” as soon as you spot them if you wish to have the most beautiful and enjoyable artificial lawn as possible. A good lawn requires proper care and great attention to detail.
